Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2014
Every year the DDCDA organises a big Christmas Tree and places it in the middle of the village. Santa comes to visit the children of the village and to light up the tree. Refreshments are provided afterwards in Connolly's Lounge. This is a free event, all are welcome. Sunday 8th December at 5pm sharp, Doohamlet Crossroads. Photos of Santa's visit will be available afterwards on Facebook.

Building Peace through the Arts
September 2014 - Would you like to get involved in a piece of public art for Doohamlet? We are looking for participants to take part in a series of public arts workshops - see the Blog and Facebook for more details.

The last monthly meeting of 2012 will be held on Wednesday, 28th November in the Golden Jubilee Hall at 8.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Fundraising Bazaar
The DDCDA, The Doohamlet Hall Committee and the Doohamlet Daycare Group will jointly hold a monster fundraising bizarre in the Golden Jubilee Hall on Friday, 14th December 2012. Any funds raised will be split between the 3 groups. The DDCDA will use it's portion of any funds raised to cover the costs of the Community Garden Project 2012, the Tradiation Stone Wall Building workshop held in October and November 2012, the 2012 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and the other ongoing work and adminijstrative costs of the DDCDA. We hope for a big turnout to this fun family night out.

Launch of Doohamlet Community Garden: Gairdín na gClog will be officially opened at 5pm on Sunday, 30th September 2012 at the Golden Jubilee Hall. Everyone welcome. Please come along to celebrate this fantastic community achievement at this free event.


2012 AGM
The DDCDA's 7th AGM will be held on Thursday, 27th September at 8pm in the Golden Jubilee Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Biodiversity Garden Project: Every Saturday for 10 Saturdays from the 2nd June 2012 until the 4th August 2012 we are asking people to come along, get involved and help us build a new Biodiversity Garden at Doohanlet Golden Jubilee Community Hall. This garden will be a public garden available for everyone to visit and enjoy. People are welcome to come along every Saturday between 9am and 1pm, even for an hour or 2. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear and bring some gardening tools if you have any.

Monthly meetings: Monthly meetings are generally held on the last Tuesday of each month in the Golden Jubilee Hall between 8.30pm and 10pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is a break over the Summer months - meetings will resum in September. Join us on Facebook to hear about upcoming meetings and events.

2011 AGM: The 2011 AGM will be held on Monday, 24th October at 8pm in the Golden Jubilee Hall. Guest speaker will be Paul Bond, of Monaghan E-Commerce Network. The local business directory, http://www.modmonaghandirectory.com/, will be offically launched and the association will recap it;s 2010/2011 activities. Anyone is welcome to attend the AGM - we hope to see you there.

DDCDA Table Quiz: The annual fundraising table quiz will take place on Saturday, 26th March 2011 at 9pm in Connolly's Lounge. Please come and support this event. Table of 4 is €20. We look forward to seeing you there.

2010 AGM: The DDCDA Annual General Meeting will take place in the Golden Jubilee Hall on Tuesday, 28th September 2010 at 8.30pm.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the AGM to hear all about the work of the group over the past year.

DOOHAMLET.COM LAUNCH: The launch of the http://www.doohamlet.ie/ website is taking place over the June Bank Holiday weekend, 4th -7th June 2010. This is a general launch, with signs being erected on the approach roads to the town, details included in the parish bulletin and notification placed in the community notes in the Northern Standard and on Northern Sound. There will also be a small event held in Connolly's Bar and Lounge on Saturday night, 5th June at 9pm. All are welcome to attend.

EIRGRID SUBMISSION: The DDCDA made a submission at an Oral Hearing of the proposed Eirgrid North-South Interconnector on Wednesday, 2nd June 2010 in the Nuremore Hotel, Carrickmacross. A copy of the submission and previous submissions are available to download on the Projects page.
TABLE QUIZ: The DDCDA had it's annual table quiz on Tuesday, 16th March 2010 in Connolly's Bar and Lounge. Thanks to all who attended and supported.  Almost €700 was raised! See our projects page for more information and photos.

MONTHLY MEETINGS: The DDCDA usually meet on the last Tuesday of each month in the Golden Jubilee Hall, Doohamlet. Meetings run from 8.30pm to 10pm. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings and observe the diuscussions. The secretary prepares and agenda in advance of the meetings - if there is a local issue you would like to committee to discuss at a meeting, please contact the secretary at contactddcda@gmail.com the week before the meeting.
