We want to develop Toneyscallon Lake as an amenity for our community!An information evening will take place on Monday 30th January 2012 at 8pm in Doohamlet Hall to inform the community of the finding of the two recent surveys carried out on Toneyscallon Lake. Allen Mc Adam from MCA Consulting carried out a feasiblity study in Spring 2012 regarding the potential development of the area around the lake for the provision of a walkway for local residents and walking enthusiasts.
Following on from this Will Woodrow, Woodrow Sustainable solutions carried out an ecology report on the habitat in the area with a view to identifying any risks that a pathway migh pose. Both Consultants will deliver their findings to the Community next monday night. This will be an interesting presentation and we hope everyone from the area will attend and hear about the unique resources we have on our doorstep.
The Feasibility Study has been funded by cavan Monaghan Leader. The ecology study has been co-funded by Monaghan county Council and Doohamlet District Community Development Association.
