In 2009 the DDCDA with all of their project partners were successful in acquiring a €50,000 grant for the purposes of improving community relations in the Doohamlet Area. This is a major boost to our community and will help to bring all of the people in our area together.The Peace III project was launched at an event in the Golden Jubilee Hall where all of the project partners came together and displayed information about their group. Stands included All Saint National School, the Group Water Scheme, Bowls, Gun Club, Youth Club, Golden Jubilee Hall, O Neills GAA club, Ladies Football Club, DDCDA and Doohamlet Daycare.
There was a great turnout on the day - many thanks to the Clontibret Pipe Band who provided a very dramatic entrance to all of our dignitaries on the day, which included Monaghan County Mayor Heather Humphries. The Doohamlet Youth Club enacted a dramatic piece and our local Scor na nOg winner treated us with his winning performance. A magician and face painter kept children occupied, while tea, sandwiches, chips and sausages were freely available for everyone who attended.
