PEACE 111 Showcase
P J Harte and Anne Malone attended the final Showcase event of PEACE 111 Phase 1 on Tuesday 31 May 2011. The hall was available to all thirty projects to display a synopsis of peace building events undertaken by their project over the last 20 months. Approx 20 projects were represented and around 50 people in attendance.
We displayed our Doohamlet Alltogether Forever banner and had a picture slide show running on our acquired PEACE 111 laptop. I believe we may have been the only community group present who hadn’t access to some clerical backup or paid worker. Catriona Maguire opened the event and David Fallon spoke on behalf of the council. Presentations were made by St Macartans college, Clones Library, Commuity Forum and Artswell on their experiences with the projects – all very positive.
After mingling with participants and a light lunch proceedings ended at 1.15pm. Next Phase of funding may become available in September
